Behaviour Management is inherently important to us. As a Catholic school, we exist to nurture the whole person, and we all know that students who do not feel respected and safe, simply cannot learn well.
The staff of St Patrick's take responsibility to ensure that relationships are positive, and that students are cared for, and because ethos and faith are a part of our everyday life, students quickly learn what we as a school stand for, and that which we will not allow.
The basis of our Behaviour Management is very simple.
Teachers are skilled in using effective classroom management techniques and very few major issues arise which require more than simple detention. However in circumstances where there is:
a member of the Leadership Team, usually Mrs Hammermeister - Assistant to the Principal Administration, will deal with the issue. Students who engage in the above will be sent home, and engaging in a Restorative Justice process when required, as well as full parent support to resolve the behaviour, will be a condition of returning to school.
