SunSmart Policy

St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School aims to educate our students about being sun safe in order to develop important, life-long, healthy habits, and acknowledges the important role adults play during and outside school hours to reinforce sun safety with children and young people. 

Our SunSmart policy applies to all school events and school related activities and includes:-

• Students wearing sun-safe clothing and appropriate hats at all times when outdoors.
• The school maximising the use of available shade for outdoor activities.
• The school providing educational programs on sun-safety.
• The provision of SPF50 or higher broad-spectrum, water resistant sunscreen for student use.
• The modelling of sun-safe behaviours by staff, parents/carers, volunteers and supervisors.
